On his way up to Northern California to officiate his sister’s wedding after being ordained for the event, The Traditionist aka Joey Barro stopped in San Francisco to lay down some tracks for Daytrotter. The outcome is four beautiful tracks, two of which can be found on their debut album Season to Season, the other two will appear on the follow up record to be released in early 2010. The upcoming release will be back from the studio in the next couple of weeks where it is currently being mixed by producer Scott Solter (John Vanderslice, Pattern Is Movement) and features drummer Jon Wurster of Superchunk and Mountain Goats.
In other news, Neon Indian recently began their relentless 45 date (so far) world tour which sees them across three continents, nine countries, and five festivals in the next four months, including a quick weekend jaunt to Mexico between Boise and Seattle. Keep in mind their first show EVER was last night in their hometown of Denton, TX. Oh, did we mention their debut album still won’t be released until October 13th (October 27th on vinyl) via Lefse Records. Wow.
